There are many different types of firearms available on the market today. Here are a five of the most common:
1. Pistols: Pistols are small firearms that are designed to be handheld. They are typically designed to be used with one hand and are often carried in a holster. Pistols can be semi-automatic, meaning they can fire multiple rounds without the need to manually chamber another bullet, or they can be revolvers, which hold a cylinder with multiple bullets that must be manually rotated in order to fire again.
2. Rifles: Rifles are long guns that are designed to be fired while shouldered. They have longer barrels than pistols and are more accurate at longer distances. Rifles can be semi-automatic, meaning they can fire multiple rounds without the need to manually chamber another bullet, or they can be bolt-action, which require the user to manually chamber each bullet before firing.
3. Shotguns: Shotguns are long guns that are designed to be fired from the shoulder. They are often used for hunting and home defense. Shotguns use a shell filled with small pellets called "shot" rather than a single bullet.
4. Submachine guns: Submachine guns are a type of firearm that is similar to a pistol but is capable of fully automatic fire. They are typically smaller and more compact than other types of firearms and are often used by military and law enforcement.
5. Machine guns: Machine guns are fully automatic firearms that are designed to fire a continuous stream of bullets as long as the trigger is held down. They are often used by military and law enforcement, but are also heavily regulated for civilian use.
No matter what type of firearm you choose, it is important to follow all safety guidelines and Florida state firearm laws, and to properly store and maintain your firearm.
The best way to do this is to take my Beginners Guide to Firearms course and read the Florida Concealed Carry Law Book.
